This was the first wine of the evening we drank exclusively with the food (steamed mussels, whole grilled bass, etc.) and it was a great partner with every bite. The 98 sec is in a phenomenal place right now, and I've had very few wines this deep and complex from the first pour to the last. It's deep gold in color and deeply honeyed on the palate while remaining fresh, defined, and utterly dry, and though quite full bodied it was fantastic with the more delicate food as well as more the richly textured scallops. I took this gorgeous wine very personally; it somehow felt unearthed just for me so I could share it with great company over a terrific dinner.
