Organic. 61% from the 2017 harvest + 39% of perpetual reserve wines going back to 2012. 41% of the raisins were vinified in barrels with their native yeasts and then aged on lees for an extended period of time. It was then bottled unfiltered in April 2018 and disgorged on July 20, 2022. I really wanted to love this and was almost certain that I would in light of all the information I shared above. That isn't to say that it is bad because it certainly isn't; it just isn't the fabulous vinous champagne that I was expecting. However, the nose is really lovely and shows great promise and complexity. Yet, most of everything on the palate is just a teensy bit lacking. For example, the acidity and body both fall a little flat. The finish is also shorter than I would like in an ideal world. All of my criticism aside though, this would make for an absolutely lovely apéro champagne but I don't think I would ever pair it with a meal (which is a shame because it seemed to have all the makings to do so).

Latest release. Disg 01/31/22. 66% 2015 with the balance reserve. 3.5 g/L. This one is clearly heavier on one year. More like a more common NV with a 'base' vintage. This one is also much more open and effusive than the previous 12/13/14 blend. At least at this young stage. Nice chalky BdB with a touch of toasty depth. Hint of greener apple characters. I love that Doquet is releasing his NV seven years post vintage. That's what many of the great, classic houses can do. One of the better NV's in the new $50-60 range.

Very pleasant champagne. Better day 2. Good notes of citrus, hard candy. Some autolytic, maybe more apparent on that second day. Pleasant mouth feel. Good balance of richness and freshness, this one.

Very good. Apple and a little minerality. Pop’s notes had ginger but couldn’t detect that. Good but not out of this world.

Round fleshy boi, creamy, brioche. A little pleasant bitterness on the finish.
