Magnificent. Ready to go as soon as it’s opened And declined 2.5 hrs later. Mocha, sous bois, puer tea, but ripe black plum and black raspberry that gives depth and life to the savory elements. It’s gorgeous.

Rounder and comparatively ripe with reasonable texture, but lacking freshness and some toffee like back notes suggest a less than perfect bottle. A shadow of a previous bottle from 19 from the same person who brought this bottle. footnote: I had a chance to drink to last glass of the bottle the following day at it had gained some clarity, balsam notes and fruit, better than the preceding evening but not reaching the heights of the previous bottle. 88 pts the first night, 90 on night two. Lazarus may have been from the Langhe.

A much deeper and fresher nose than the Gaja. Cooler nebbiolo fruit, darker, with tar, balsamic notes, and roses. This has structure, yet poise, with great texture. Structured yet supple and with sap and density. This has power and grace with clarity and depth. Outstanding showing and at mid peak. One of the most youthful seeming wines tonight.

Clear evolution on the rim and an interesting nose with hints of mushrooms and some caramel. In the mouth it lacks balance adn may have gone a bit over the top.

Masculine; fuzzy edges; sweet fruit; falls a bit short but still bright. Very good (91)
