  • I’ve tasted dozens of Del Dotto wines that don’t have a single review on CellarTracker. Of them, this is one of the finest. Decanted the first 30 minutes. Some bricking on the edges. The bouquet was marvelous. Smooth attack on entry with immediate velvety mid-palate. Most enjoyable at the mid palate, but the finish was long, having that taste that tells you this is at or slightly past the peak, but absolutely fantastic. It feels “thick” or viscous at this point. I still refer to it as velvety. It does not taste colored by the barrel so much at this point, but rather like a classic, rich, balanced Bordeaux. I would buy all I could find on auction of this 12 year old Howell David at this point. Wow! If you’re waiting, time to drink up.

  • Very solid wine with great notes of cherry with leather and spice. Shame its the last one.
