This wine is built like a light Italian red with the alcohol content of a weightier Cabernet. Leads with astringic heat and light berry notes. Black cherry on the nose. Finish is tart, herbacious, red forest berries.

Decanted through a strainer and an aerator and drank over the next two hours, before, during and after dinner. Dark reddish-purple. Medium density. Medium-to-light mouthfeel. After 30 minutes, it has raspberries, plums and a nice amount of spice. Reasonably long finish. Just a little on the sweetish side, but not cough-syrup, jammy sweet. It was a gift, so I do not know the price; but I suspect that it is a good QPR. I am tempted to give it a 90, but, after all, it IS from Trader Joe's, and they must be punished for selling Two Buck Chuck.
PS: This wine was $12.99; great QPR.
