  • Cheap Pinot session (Extra Space): Tasted blind. Drank from bottle over 3+ hours.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is so dirty! Medium+ intensity, with aromas of bretty barnyard earth, chicken poop, unwashed dog, leather. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium+ tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of leather, earth, deep red cherries, red plums. Medium+ finish.
Marking this down because the brett is simply too much, overwhelming the underlying palate which actually is quite good. Not for further ageing. Drink up.
Blend of 95% Blaufränkisch and 5% Pinot Nero (Blauburgunder).
Day 2 under vacuum seal: Amazingly the brett has disappeared! Now dark earth, leather, and black cherries. Sweet spices and minerality. More savoury and less perception of acidity.
