Very smooth and mellow GSM-type blend from FM. Blackberry and red fruit, spice, garrigue, olive tapenade, and stony minerals. Very silky, sweet, tannins that have fully integrated. Lush mouthfeel and a long, satisfying finish. This has matured into a delightful wine that is complex and pleasurable. It's drinking beautifully now but can go for another 4-5 years.

Expensive but excellent...worth the reduced price of CA$82 (SAQ) rather than CA$102 regular price.

In the zone. Full-bodied. Submerged tannins. Damson plum, smoked meat, dusty sage, Alaskan huckleberry, violet pastille, star anise, cardamom, black tea, and a basalt/slate-like mineral note. Mature but not tired. James Mantone knows what he’s doing. Just realized how similar my take is on this relative to the 2009 Southard Syrah I recently tasted. The Southard appeared, to my taste buds, to have the structure to age even longer. Both in a good place right now though.

Could be more developed, but pleasant and balanced. Needs more fruit to balance tannins. Not sure it will age. Has a little heat on the finish. I would drink up.
