  • Drank from Bin East 23. Spice oak nose. Clear medium yellow. Full body leather with dry acid chalk vanilla finish. Past prime. 5/10.

  • Day 2 update:
Vacuum sealed and kept in fridge. Re-taste on Day 2.
It is brilliant! OK, maybe not brilliant, but it's MUCH better. Oak beautifully integrated with the fruit. Alcohol level slightly less prominent now (still high, just less obvious). Adjusting point to 92 SOLELY based on day 2 performance.

    Day 1:
Nose is decidedly Roussanne, with med level oak in it.
On palate low flavor impact, but medium body.

Overall, fruit has faded a bit, oak shows more, not very flavorful, but the medium body and the alcohol content makes it not an easy wine to gulp. It's not a bad wine, but I think it's very awkward: not complex, but not gulpable; in other words, I'm not quite sure when to drink this, in terms to season, occasion, or food pairing. Label 14% abv but it tastes like much higher.

Maybe I should've drunk it fresh?
It smells nice though. 88 points.

  • Consistent with previous notes; acidity moderating, light oak influence evident

  • I had this after work on 8/20/17. My notes were exactly the same as those written on 7/7/16 except that the palate was smoother and better integrated.

  • Friends and I had this at the Carriage House tasting room on 7/7/16. It had a fragrant, expressive bouquet of floral, pear, pineapple, melon, apricot, mineral and spice aromas. The palate was fresh, and clean with nice acidity…flavors of pear, melon, apricot, lime, mineral and spice.
