Opened my last bottle and poured. Wow! Almost now CF notes, had I not known what it was, I would have said CS. Smooth with tannins well integrated, both red and black fruit, leather, tobacco, more black pepper than green. Really, really nice. Wish I had more!

Popped and poured. Deep, rich berry aroma with leafy notes. Mix of black fruit flavor, earth, and forest floor. Strawberry notes in the clean finish. Firm backbone, attractive flavors, complex, great staying power. Has the style and quality of a second tier Loire cab franc. Great QPR.

Right out of the bottle, the nose is closed but still offers suggestions of red fruit and earthy spice. The initial palate is surprisingly lush and full, especially on the mid palate. A really lovely mouthfeel that is beautifully unctuous and savory. Offers flavors of tart cherry pie filling, smoke, and more spicy earthiness. Tame tannins are held at bay by nice, juicy mouth filling flavors. Lacks some of the traditional Cab Franc qualities, but in a good way. A real winner from the Finger Lakes. Savor on its own through 2019.

Similar comments to last year's note. Though the mouthfeel has become even more smooth, even silky, with a more prominent vanilla-pepper finish.
