  • Very old, small cork, but it came out in one piece. Looks like it was bottled in the 1960s? This was fresh and lively with no bottle stink upon opening. Quite sweet but there was this electric vein of tangerine acidity that pulsed through the wine and made it so lifted and fresh. This was quite citric, I kept thinking of orange peels and clementines, with lemons and limes thrown in. Some caramel and figs, but not overly torrefacted, again, very light and crisp. Lovely wine that I expect to get better over the coming days. On the second day, the acidity was a bit more subdued, but still balanced. Update: Current wine maker at Barbeito, Ricardo, stated that this was probably bottled in the early 70s.
