Austere and fairly stern, this could easily be a Barolo of the 2013 vintage. Tart red berries, tar, spice and smoke are some of many aromas here. Broad shoulders. Fit tannic spine and plenty of grip and force. A super classic Rinaldi wine.

On the nose, it's more on the red fruited spectrum of nebbiolo with cherry, some balsam, tar, and roses. Mid weighted and graceful on the palate with more cherry fruit, florals, balsam, but with some cured meat and leather adding to the whole on the palate. I like this style of Langhe nebbiolo where it allows the fruit and nature of nebbiolo to speak rather than making a baby Barolo. That said, this not a glou glou wine. It has nebbiolo backbone but it's delivered with a nuanced, softer hand. Finishes with lovely balsam and floral perfume and firm, fine tannins. It is nebbbiolo after all. This is drinking well right now and a last glass saved for day two gained a little more fruit and perfume. Lovely.
Paired very well with a simple prep of tajarin with Alba white truffle salt and butter.

Vibrant garnet with the slightest tawny hue. Top note of sour cherry interspersed with cool menthol and quinine. Medium-bodied and elegant in texture, the first few sips there is a sour cherry acidity on entry that is unbalanced but integrates with a bit more air, raspy nebbiolo tannins flex their muscles, savoury in nature with flavours of tar and licorice with undernotes of quinine and red fruits. Fifth and final bottle.

Quick decant. Textbook nose and good perfume. No VA, clean and pure. This is very fresh and red-fruited, filled with energy, style, direction and drive! Maybe my best Langhe to date ... this was very convincing. 91+

PnP. Very fresh nose and nice red fruits. A tad less exciting than last bottle 6 months ago, but still one of the best Langhe's out there. Drink now.
