  At first the nose is mostly a spectrum of oak notes of different levels of toast of the barrels. There is some blackcurrants, dark cherries and bilberries in the background. Quite meh... On the palate the wine is much more interesting as it's not jammy although some sweetness is in the fruit, the tannins are very grippy and there's a decent amount of acids too. Flavours follow the nose quite well except for the bilberry tone is stronger on the palate. The nose made me anticipate more of a heavier body but it ends up being leaner than expected. Still not a light wine in any way. I'll give this wine an extra + for not being too high in alcohol.
  
  After one hour in the decanter the wine begins to balance out, nose isn't so much dominated by the evident oak. Palate gets a bit sweeter and adds a nice nectarine peel to the aftertaste.
  
  After three hours the palate integrates even more and some salty liquorice gets added to the palate.
  
  If this would've been a blind tasting, I probably would've guessed everything from modern bdx to super tuscan to stellenbosch cab. This has more of a rustic structure than some of the aforementioned. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad wine quality wise, it's just lacking persona and character.

  Very deep, almost fully opaque yet not super-extracted black cherry color. Big, sweet and moderately oak-forward nose with rich aromas of ripe plums and black cherries, some toasty oak spice, light chokeberry tones, a little bit of black chocolate, hints of smoke and coffee and a touch of boysenberry marmalade. The wine is ripe and quite extracted yet dry on the palate with a full body and juicy flavors of black cherries and ripe dark plums, some toasty oak spice, light sanguine notes of raw meat, a little bit of mocha coffee, bitter hints of chokeberries and dark chocolate and a touch of juicy blackcurrants. The overall feel is rather lush and polished, making the wine feel both silky smooth and very chewy at the same time. The acidity feels rather modest, especially at first, as it seems to get overwhelmed by the ripe, extracted fruit, but it seems to get some boost from the ripe and mellow yet very ample tannins that impart a little bit of balancing bitterness which seems to support the acidity nicely. The finish is rich, long and gently grippy with rather dry flavors of black cherries and fresh red plums, some blackcurrants, a little bit of mocha oak and toasty wood spice, light bitter notes of chokeberries and a hint of juicy bilberry. The fruit flavors seem to fade faster, whereas the spicy, toasty and bitter nuances carry on for a long time.
  
  A rather big, polished and modern Cahors, but not nearly as massively oaky as the hulking Prince Probus vintage 2000 that I had a few years ago. Nevertheless, the wine is a bit too overdone and gloopy for my taste - a good Cahors should be less of a blockbuster to exhibit the terroir and varietal characteristics better. This is just a monolithic red wine made to impress the fans of Napa Cabs, not for the fans of traditional, characterful wines of Le Sud-Ouest. I hope aging will tone down the oak and lend the wine some well-needed finesse. However, at 23€ I'd say this wine was priced according to its quality.

  Wonderful wine. Looks still very juvenile, the nose full of ripe red fruit. Continues on the palate with layers of different fruits mainly currant, black cherries and sour cherries. The tannins are strong and present, but very well integrated,the acidity is fresh and vibrant and leaves you wanting more of the juice. Nice harmonic finish, medium length. can still age for quite some time.
