  • This wine was similar to the Viarte Friulano in that it had all the nice savory characteritics that I’ve come to enjoy in Friulano, but just didn’t have “it.” The palate opens with ripe peach/stone fruit notes, followed by spring vegetables and minerals. I thought this was just an ok match with halibut with basil pesto and pistachios and scallop tartlet with mangos and mascarpone, but this wine went much better with prosciutto and it was a perfect match with spicey Portuguese sausage. In the future, I would think pork rather than seafood for friulano. Try scallops, but make sure they are bacon wrapped. Try arugula or ramp pesto, but make sure you serve the pesto with some prosciutto. Try this wine with more sausages dishes.

I didn’t think this was as good as the 6 year old 2010 Friulano I had at Tavola last month. Should I age friulano for five years before drinking it? Also, I didn’t get a sense of whether or not this is better with more or less air and colder or closer to cellar temp. I’m still curious about Friulano and I think it can be great when served correctly and with the right food….

  • Definitely an alternative to chardonnay and sauv Blanc.after an hour the nose went from stone fruit and musk to more subtle musky floral. In the mouth it is keeps the musky floral to nectarines with perfect acid balance. Long finish. Very golden in color. 12.5 alcohol
I would not buy this often but I think it is a great presentation of the varietal

  • Light golden color.

Exotic nose of white peaches and tropical fruit.

This wine is medium to full bodied with terrifically high, mouthwatering acid. Beautiful peachy fruit character with pronounced minerality on the back end.

Just a wonderful all round bottle of white wine that is interesting and complex but somehow not challenging at all. So easy to drink by itself but is just begging to go with food also. I can see this wine pairing with nearly anything from heavier seafoods, greens, to roast chicken and fatty pork cuts. If you need a dry wine to go with a pate or foie gras course, look no further than this.

Not sure if this will improve with age but why wait and see when it is drinking so will right now.
