Opened a bottle from my OWC6 for its 10-year anniversary and it was a good choice - perfect drinking window! Smooth and silky tannins, nice acidity and the typical fruity notes in the nose as well as on the palate. Perfect get-together wine after a hard day of work. Pop your bottles and enjoy the Reserve de la Comtesse 2014 now and for the coming couple of years.

Slightly more relaxed and less tightly wound compared to a year ago, there is that signature pencil-lead or graphite aromatics.
On the palate, the plum and blackfruit notes prevailed with light vanilla which I assume comes from the high quality oak used. Immediately came across as being high in Merlot, and I found out later that the cépage was indeed 51% Cab with 41% Merlot, including 6% vin de presse.
Tannins are lightly grippy, best described as chalky. More pleasant when paired with dishes rather then on its own, at this stage.
This was a bottle I had cellared for over 2 years, when I first started off in my Bordeaux journey, and I was happpy to pop this last night with just some light bottle-breathing at Oriental Treasure with PQ and L over Chinese-style beef and Roast meats (Pork, Duck) too. We even took 1/3rd of the bottle home, and enjoyed it even more over Peaky Blinders!

Tasted against 5 other 2014 bdx from other appellations (Gloria, Lafon Rochet, Potensac, Fombrauge, Mauvesin Barton) Double decanted, probably wine of the night. Serious depth, smooth and refined, needed the air overnight but shone and had character and style. Great wine.

This is my birthday dinner again. All wines are uncorkeded 2 hours in advance. Château Prieure-Lichine 2014. Agree with MOTZ. Wonderfully floral, wholly intoxicating perfume. It also featured muddle fresh berry, live herbs, and herbal tea notes. So pure, so Margaux.91 2014 Reserve Countess. It has relatively high acidity. After about 3 hours, the aroma develops and the wine becomes rich, more like Pauillac. More air would have helped. 90

Smoky blackcurrant, spices and leather on the nose. Medium to full bodied with fresh acidity and fine tannins. Lovely long finish. Impressive. Drink now or hold.
