On the nose: rich blueberry/blackberry compote and blackcurrant, menthol, and pipe tobacco. A little dustiness/cocoa powder too. On the palate: it tastes what it smells like, and it's delicious. Nice mouthfeel, not too thin but not a viscous port-like wine either. It'll coat your mouth nicely, and it'll linger quite a while. Fruit-forward but not a fruit bomb, and round and layered without being soft. The QPR on this is out of this world. If you like Aussie Shiraz, particularly from Barossa or McLaren Vale, buy this up if you see it somewhere. 91-92 points.

This was a nice pairing with heavily smoked BBQ brisket. Has great fruit and oak aromas on the nose, very fruit forward in flavor with great structure to compliment the BBQ. Great buy.

Coravin fun - Dom. de Chevalier tasting (E & M's in the rocks, Sydney): Black fruit compote, quite elegant, controlled and touches of black pepper on the nose. In the mouth there is more fruit compote, elegant, lacks a little length though some touches of pepperiness on the finish. Pleasant

Rich soft juicy and flavor, Ben tries not to pick them to ripe but it is fairly classic for McLaren Vale. Lots of structure still.
