No detailed notes. A bit sweet, like a less viscous port. Not bad, but not what I was expecting or wanting. Would be a decent wine opened with the right expectations (port Lite) and/or food pairing (chili, BBQ). Overall, seemingly well made but seems like a stylistic outlier with its overt sweetness.

Slow-O 2 hrs, consumed over the following 2 hrs. My first time with this vintage, and I really wasn't sure how it was holding up. Happy to say that my New World (only) friend and I (finally) agreed - this was delicious. The fruit and acids are still quite lively. A nice tartness on the layered finish. Good structure, fine, rolling tannins. For 16% abv, this garnered many fine compliments from the New and Old camps alike. At $28, this is a seriously good bargain. Drink thru 2014, score: A-, recommended

First exposure to Villa Creek. Might be the best $30 bottle I've ever had. Very fruit forward (to me, a good thing) for an 11 year old wine.
