Medium ruby, translucent with narrowly spaced legs @ 14% abv. Medium (-) - rather closed nose of cherry, smoked meat, leaves, leather. Dry, medium(+) acidity, medium(+) tannin, medium(+) alcohol and medium body. Medium palate of cherry, blackberry, dark chocolate and soem pepper. Elegant, balanced with a glycerinic texture. Good length with fine-grained tannin in a dry finish. A nice dinner wine with enough body and structure for game. Needs decanting.

Nez très animal, presque dérangeant, puis le boisé prend le dessus. En bouche un peu astringeant et apreté qui freine un peu le plaisir. J'ai quelques questions sur la fameuse dégustation en aveugle qui a fait le buzz autour de ce vin...

Nose has lovely red and black berry fruits. The palate shows depth and richness, but a bit of a hardness, too, from tannins that are not rough or coarse, but somewhat hard. There is a somewhat over soaked tea back aspect that detracts at this stage, even if the 14% alcohol is well integrated (no hot aspects). The estate has a reputation for making very good QPR wines. Give it time for the tannins to resolve themselves. For now, a conservative score. Let us revisit in a couple of years...
