Decanted an hour ahead. Dark red with not much color change. Still seems a bit closed on the nose. Good black fruit with lots of tannins. A nice wine with steak. Still has plenty of life in it. Alas, no more bottles.

PnP to test: initial aromas acetic and spicy. Very earthy, no fruit to speak of, a little of the dirty diaper aroma. Initial flavour is thin and acidic (but not acetic) with some green and spice, surprising amount of tannin remains. Extremely long finish - 45+ seconds. Into the decanter with it.
50 minutes later, it's opening up very very nicely. Some tart blackberry fruit has emerged on the palate, and maybe something like sour cherry on the nose. I think it's still got a ways to go, though.
Wine kept evolving for another hour or so, and then started to decline. Finish remained strong, but I think the best window was about 1.25-2 hours post decant. Looks like it's time to drink up.

- Brick color - Brick red/brown. Subtle, fruity nose. Smooth, complex, balanced fruit on the palate, with a distinct note of port. Medium finish. Very nice. I was concerned that this might be damaged from shipping, because the cork was stained very dark red almost half the way up. But the wine did not show any of the other typical signs of shipping/ heat damage.

Typical, Petite blackish-purple. Awesome, chunky, black fruit aromatics. Problem is, there's very little in the flavor department. Then again, it's 15 years old and not a wine that was/is meant for long-term cellaring. During a recent tasting there (after more than 10 years), and discovering that a new winemaker has changed their style, I had the chance to taste some library vintages and this one reminded me the most of their wines of old...what can I say, I got caught up in nostalgia! (7-10 years ago, this probably would have earned a score in the high 80's)
