  Interesting varietal character and terroir notes, including an impression of biodynamic farming, throughout. Bold, expansive, good power. Excessive oak, in the form of butter popcorn detracted from an otherwise appealing whole.

  Opened one hour in advance. Spectacularly deep, dark purple/black color. Aromas of red fruit and eucalyptus. Rich flavors of black fruit. Black fruit, black pepper, and some heat in the finish. No doubt about it, this is full throated petite sirah, but it always stays in balance and under control, and could even be described as elegant. Excellent.
