Dark garnet colored, medium bodied, black berry and black cherry fruits are accented by tones of mineral, graphite and hints of camphor, with a layer of vanilla and a slight bit of 'heat' from the alcohol.

big red fruit on the nose, 55% Barossa fruit, savory on the palate, slaty minerality. Barossa grape prices are at record highs, hence they have to blend other regions to make the wine work at the price. Fourth fill oak, into it for six months, shows some complexity and toastiness.

Not in the class with Elderton's estate bottlings, but's hard to beat with spicy foods (Chicken Tika Masala).
