  • Light aubergine color. Slightly sweet nose with elements of coffee and earth. Deep dark fruit which is a little overwhelmed by the oak, but would probably taste even hotter than it already is without the oak treatment. Interesting mossy, truffle-like notes. Tannins come through a bit more the second day. I wish I had another bottle so I could see how this progresses in the next couple years.

  • Decanted for two hours. Nice light violet color, completely opaque. Great aroma of violets and a bit of coffee and perfume. Palate is HOT! More coffee than fruit is present, some black cherry is very faint, pepper comes in late. Fruity acidic finish is OK length, pretty intense. Solid effort, wish I hadn't opened this one for a couple years.
