Garnet red in colour, with red currant and rhubarb nose. Similar through the palate with some fine cherry notes, and very fine tannins. The wine has medium weight, and is elegant, save for some alcohol heat that distracts with the finish. 14.5% alc. I mostly liked it and wanted to like it even more, but if it stays as it is and doesn’t fan out the alcohol I will be disappointed as this is usually a Pinot drinkers Grenache

Structurally resolved and quite weightless, a world away from the last bottle tried 4 years ago, faint cassis and cherry notes, but that’s about it, not a lot going on, not sure if it’s shut down but this was a very uninteresting bottle of wine...

Bright pale garnet. So fragrant though. Red fruits, cherry, rhubarb. Palate is medium bodied, very finely balanced, lovely intensity. And with a finish that fans out. Tannins are fine, chalky and already well integrated. So pinotesque. The Grenache is brought out by a sweetness in the palate with white pepper and dark plum. Really lovely. Food friendly.

Chave and co.: Spice, floral, some tar and cranberry on a fairly clean and pure nose. The palate is similar in style, with fresh acidity and medium length.

Tastes like my grandmother’s mulberry cordial. Not especially complex.
