  • After dinner drink. Pretty good!! Nice color, good nose and interesting palate. Bit dry on funish.

  • Perhaps advanced beyond its years but exquisite expression of high altitude Oregon. Earth, saddle and cranberry with an underlying sweet fruit and tertiary flavors.

  • Transluscent ruby with a rich colour, medium optical density, and medium to high specular reflectivity. Really intense aromas pour from the glass here, with sweet cherry, woodsy forest floor, rose pedals, and some light tar. Really delicious bouquet here! On the palate, medium body, refreshing acidity, and very polished texture, with a light character that dances across the palate. Tannins are well integrated here, providing a bit of back-end structure. Flavours of red fruits on the attack, with cherry and raspberry leading the way. Maybe just a hint of rubber after the initial attack, which flows into forest floor and some savoury meatiness by midpalate. A tart character to the fruit shows the vibrant acidity here still. The final transition shows some spices and woody flavours before the tannins kick in to dry things out at the finish of black liquorice and light tobacco smoke. The finish is medium in length and falls off in complexity pretty quickly. The aromas have more depth and complexity than the palate does, at least on first opening.

Overall, this has really nice intensity, medium complexity, and is definitely interesting. A light, elegant, and thoughtful wine with nice variety and regional character, but nice to drink and has a decent amount of depth. Not stunningly complex or nuanced, but really good at what it does. Not flashy, but sophisticated in many ways. Excellent style of wine for food with high enough acidity to refresh the palate, and drinking very well. This can likely age a bit more, which might tame the brightness a bit and lend a bit more complexity, but who knows? I really love Oregon Pinot Noir, and this bottle is definitely a cut above average! Probably priced appropriately for classic, well-made, Oregon Pinot Noir with more depth than entry level, even if not a show-stopper.

  • Clear light ruby, youthful; nose is moderately aromatic, ripe red fruit, slight spice; palate is light bodied, fruit is surprisingly light and fades too quickly, medium alcohol, low tannins, acid is medium-minus; short finish. This is moderate climate pinot, not overripe, but lacks complexity and length. Drinkable but highly overpriced, but not one to search out at any price given the competition. 84
