P&p. Smells young/grapy/primary, along with a good dose of attractive herbs/garrigue, and some smoke and earth. Similar on the palate, with ripe, liqueurlike(/Banyulslike?) fruit and dried herbs, a bit smoky and savory. Pretty decent acidity; some fairly coarse, sandpapery tannins; medium bodied. Herbs intensify in the finish. Doesn't really come together; disjointed; I'm not digging this nearly as much as the producer's Carignan blend or Chenins, but it may just be too young. Characterful, with a general sense of rustic authenticity; blind, S. Rhone or Langedoc-Roussillon would be much more obvious guesses than California. Intriguing wine, but not drinking very well tonight.
Day 2 (stored in a half bottle overnight): Smells terrific tonight, with great spice and rose, and the fruit is both fresher and more restrained; and still plenty of dried herbs. Drinking better tonight, too, with fresher, redder fruit. Something odd like multivitamin in the finish, which was there last night but I couldn't put my finger on it; but everything's more cohesive now, and pretty tasty (although the palate doesn't quite live up to the nose). Interesting stuff; might pick up some of this to age. Hold.

7% Solution, SF 2015 (SF): 92% Grenache, 8% Syrah Large neutral barrels. A little peppery. This is probably the most classically ripe, full, high-alcohol style wine I’ve tried. [14.1%] Good example of the style. Ripe but also a bit savory. Cherry, cherry, cherry. Score: Around 8.5
