Aromatic, tar, crushed tomato, cherry jam and carob nose. Rich, complex flavours; assertive with good grip. Long well-balanced and evolving finish. 4/5

Opera Wine 2017 - 100 Great Producers (Verona, Italy): { OperaWine2017, Verona } Rich, thickly textured, with lots of glycerin, vanillin, milk chocolate and sweet, almost chewy tannins. If you like this style, you'll most likely love this wine. I'm not sure of the price, but it's probably just as attractive as what's in the bottle.
Made from 65-year old low-yielding Primitivo, this had been made in a new world, California-Zin, style. I love California Zins, so was pre-disposed to love this wine! It's delicious. Really full bodied, intense, layer upon layer of brooding dark berry fruit, spicy, peppery and interesting. The time in French oak only sweetens the deal as far as I am concerned. This is worth way more than the £15 price tag in my opinion!
