First PnP was consistent with last bottle. Off taste, sour, past it's prime. Burgundy color, hints of oxidation brown. Disjointed and unpleasant all around. Decanted for a couple hours and tried again; no change. Almost dumped it down the drain, but back in the bottle and vacuumed.
Night two was incredibly better. Thought dinner might be painting my pallette, so kept trying as the night went on. Yep, really good. Reminds me of a mid body Pinot. Tart strawberries, decent if not silky tannins, actually got brighter.
Definitely showing it's age, so not going to sit on my last bottle, but some considerable breathing time certainly helps it come together.

Decided to open last bottle of this. Pop and pour at cellar temp this drank very well with the chill. Nose: Still same meaty, sauvage character with perfumy and saline aromas. Palate: Dark fruits, white pepper and the gamey qualities with present but soft tannins. Now 89+ points. Best bottle of the 4. Good to go out on a high note.

Pretty obvious barnyard on the nose. Decanting toned it down some, as did pairing it with a big steak. Passable, but not sure how WS came to a 91 rating. Both bottles tasted were the same. Quaff when you don't have guests, I guess.

Excellent but need to be decanted for at least 30 minutes.

Grape juice fruit bomb. Perhaps this was their goal. Either way I've got 3 more bottles to figure out.
