  • Very fresh which was a relief given my terrible experiences with Italian whites in the past. Amazing aromatics of citrus, ginger and straw. On the palate it has some sweetness from the ripe fruits, and a waxy texture. Just a little hollow but gained some complexity on day 2.

  • Mature. Lemon peel, slight saltiness and mineralogy. Medium bodied with a nice finish.

  • I had not realised that Arneis could age, but this had developed a lovely honeyed mellowness. I prefer it now to when it was younger, which is saying something.

  • Took 3 days opened to become superbly good, and the last 3 inches in the bottle were the very best. A pretty translucent light yellow color, very perfumed, juicy, concentrated, and well textured. Excellent refreshing acidity, laced with lemon and lime fruit. Like many of the best white wines, manages to achieve the difficult task of being both palette cleansing and mouth coating. Overall, confirms why Bruno Giacosa is rightly famous for his Arneis.

  • Drinks at Chateau YB. Tasted blind.
Appearance is clear, pale intensity, lemon colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of white flowers, saline minerality, green herbs, cream. Developed.
on the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol (13%), medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of green herbs, saline stony minerality, citrus lemon-lime, some sweet cream. Long finish.
Good quality. Tastes like a cross between Sauvignon Blanc and Viognier. When the hint came out that this was Italian, then it clicked and I guessed Roero Arneis. Drink up, not for further ageing.
