  • La Cosa is a great dessert wine! High acidity and sweetness. Extremly funky.

  • Very special thing, this thing. We are talking about an orange, dessert, sparkling wine.
Flows in the glass murky orange and viscous and foamy.
Smells heavily of buckthorn or tamarind, honey, oranges, lemonade and acetone (nail polish remover).
Very high acidity, some sweetness and a lot of funk. Extremely fine bubbles, like a fizzy tablet put directly on your tongue.

Crowd pleaser, too. What a fun drink!
I heard the following: High altitude Moscatel de Alejandria from a site near Valladolid. Half of the crop affected by botrytis. After harvest, the grapes are hung to dry for two weeks. Skin & stem maceration. No sulphur.

Store cool and in upright position. Lay it down and the cork might be pushed out. My friends had one bottle spill all over their (room temp) pantry. The store replaced their bottle, already familiar with the problem. Their display bottle had the cork pushed out about 2mm. On one of my bottles, I saw dried-up drips on the outside of the wax seal. So the store now told me to store it upright and cool.
Doesn't seem like something you should hold for very long. Who needs tertiary aromas in something this funky anyways!?
One time, a bottle I opened had very little CO2 left. Vendor says you can re-liven it by storing it in room temperature for a few days so the yeast wakes up and produces new bubbles.

First had it at Maxim, a wine bar in Berlin-Mitte. Very nice place, and the owner gave us La Cosa when we asked for a dessert wine :-)
    €13,50 at ViniCulture, Berlin
