Pop and pour, this was quite sour and seemed to be well past prime. It did pick up some steam in the 1+ hour we drank it. Sour cherry, anise, some funk, definitely rustic. I almost dumped it for a bottle of something else (life's too short) but my wife stopped me.

100% grenache. interesting evolution from PnP to 3 hours; initial sour cherry evolved into cherry plus menthol notes, with a savory finish, to a bit tamer, predominantly savory/meaty. overall enjoyable, especially in serial tastes.

In terms of nots: not plush, not jammy or plummy. In kataphatic terms: slightly herby, as if injected with a bit of Suze; dark brick red in color; acidic; lightly lactic on the palate. A somewhat Burgundian effect on the tongue.

Slight tinge of mousiness (evidenced by a boiled peanut note) upon opening explodes overnight to make this undrinkable.
