  • Still fresh — brightly acidic, plenty of citrus, tangy lime, sweet tangerine; herbal; with ripe yellow apples and mango checking in as well. Aging very nicely.

  • Decanted half an hour before dinner. Starts with mainly walnut, gets apple, honey and a suggestion of curry with more air, on the palate quite intense with a lemony acidity in good balance with the sweetness (that was not so present 2 years ago), creamy and very long. In a nice spot now with a good mix between oxidative notes and the fruit, 92+. Drink within the next 6 to 10 years.

  • Beautiful medium golden colored. Interesting nose with roasted almonds and ripe peach. On the palate lots of roasted nutty notes, white peach, ripe pear and some dried straw. Medium bodied with an elegant acidity. Good depth and fruit complexity. It already felt a bit tired therefore I would rate it medium balanced. The finish is long and leaves a refreshing nutty touch on the tongue.
A very enjoyable Chenin Blanc, typical Vouvray style in my opinion. I don’t have a lot of experience with aged Chenin Blanc from Vouvray but I guess I would have liked this wine more if drunk 2 years earlier. On the other hand these wines are known to age forever. John Gilman says its drinking window is 2017-2045. (IG)

  • Slightly oxidized but slightly improved with time and air; agree with others that this one might need to be consumed on the earlier side. Otherwise lovely orchard fruit/pear with firm core of acidity.
