  • Sitrusfrukt, modne honningtoner, ørlite snev av volatilitet. Med luft også litt blomster. Frisk i munnen, grapefrukt og kanskje melon. Strukturert. Sitter lenge i munnen.

  • This has all the hallmarks of a good white burgundy: a creamy richness balanced against an underlying acidic citrus backbone. It was this balance and elegance that shone through. No fireworks or angels singing, just an excellent, well-made and very enjoyable wine. The only disappointment was the speed at which it disappeared…

  • Pop and pour; overfilled, signs of seepage as before. Very much in the zone. On the nose: soft noble reduction, preserved lemon, thyme, cucumber, mint, and a hint of almond. On the palate: fantastic acidity, density that is off the charts, yet simultaneously weightless, wet stone, lemon oil, bitter herbs, grapefruit pith, and lovely tang on the dense finish. Yum. Sadly, last btl.

  • Tasting @Cru Vin Odense, Denmark.
Interesting. Pickled lemon, lime and bergamotte. Herbacious and some oak although quite well integrated at this point. Rather simple, but still my first Leroy. Not sure about the terroir as always with these low level maison bottles. Short length.

  • Purchased several years ago and cellared since. Double decanted prior to taking to a friend’s house. Pristine in its evolution. Very rich, slightly reduced with an open and flowing nature. Slightly creamy, nutty but not outwardly oaky, with a ripe apple and white peach core and citrus around the edges. Very long and graceful. Excellent with praline pecans and cheddar cheese. Still this is just a Bourgogne Blanc but it does show some elegance and pedigree that is unmistakable compared to the average. Not sure it is really worth the premium for Madame Bize-Leroy but enjoyable nonetheless.
