IPNC Weekend 2023; 7/26/2023-7/31/2023: Pale gold color. Drank a glass plus over an hour plus. Brought this to The Stephanie Inn for dinner. Very much the picture of Chassagne elegance in a glass. Lemony sea breezes whisk you off to a happy place with chamomile and tarragon top notes and stone fruit accents on the nose. The palate follows through with the same wistful medium bodied elegance that is so understated yet suave and sophisticated: lemon with a lime twist, stone fruit, stone, and a great dry extract finish. HDH auction at avec (Chicago, IL): Creamy, ripe, and quite prototypical Ramonet. I like the palate breadth here, and there is a demure calmness about this that I really enjoy. Less screechy and intense than the PYCM.

The streak of underwhelming white Burgundy at home continues... the nose does show some of the Ramonet mint, but it's on the palate where this falters. Somehow it has the alcohol of a ripe vintage, but a lot of the thinness of 2013, leading to a wine that tastes simultaneously emaciated and hot. Granted, this improved with air, but that was from an even lower starting point. The palate shows a distinct bitterness as well. Expected a lot better given the producer, but this is really nondescript and forgettable.

Chassagne-Montrachet Morgeot Tasting (The Moll House - Chicago IL): Apple and pear throughout, layered and complex, but still on the tight side for a 2013. Lots here with good+ weight and length. Upside from here.
