  • BAsed on the generally consistent positive reviews on this wine, I conclude that this bottle was horribly flawed. There is a persistent Bizarre aroma coming from the glass. It smells uncannily exactly like cat shit. Atbfirstminthlught maybe some weird native local grape varietals cofermenting and making an out-there southern French wine from a small appellation, but it’s Pretty Unmistakeable and foul. I’m curious as to what the compound or flaw in this bottle could be? If anyone knows, please do share in the comments

  • Still quite youthful but better integrated than 2 years ago. Nose of plums, blackcurrant and licorice. Ripe tannins and ample supporting acidity. The 15% alcohol are quite well hidden. Full bodied but not too heavy. Drink over the next 7 - 8 years.

  • Its a red blend of Grenache, Mourvedre and old vines Carignan from Provence smallest wine appelation - Palette.
Aged for 18 months in foudres and barrels. Its a 15% monster but with velvet gloves. Color is still young showing hints of garnet. Nose is with black fruits, blackcurrant, kirsch. Some licorice. Smooth tannins. The 15% alchohol is perfectly integrated. Nice one.

  • Purchased at the winery. A bit more modern and glossy compared to other vintages. Opulent red berry nose, with the Grenache in the blend clearly dominating. Sweet plums and blackberry aromatics with a nice mineral element. Good structure and just a touch of heat. Judging from previous experiences with this wine I see some upside potential for this wine. The 2007 is still drinking very well.

  • Grenache, Mourvedre, Carignan (vieilles vignes), part aged in barriques and foudres

Rich spicy nose, hints of herbs

Smooth mineral stone and spice, rounded, leading to finish of dark berries and white pepper. Tannins persist on side of tongue

Big and assertive, but more balanced than 15% alcohol might suggest
