I believe this is the last of a sextet of '03 burgundies that I bought from Scott (?) Hess through Binny's many years ago. Two things I can conclude: one, my makeshift "cellar" does a very creditable job of aging wine at least for a decade or so (I bought this 13 years ago); two, Rully makes some jolly good wine. I've been much more familiar with their whites than their reds so this was a good surprise. Shockingly the color was very bright ruby - a clear rim but no hint of brick at all. A fresh spicy, earthy aroma. On the palate ample tart cherry fruit with some spice and earthy notes - so smooth and resolved at this point. Dulcie, ever skeptical of these older vintages, was enamored. If I could buy again...
