Tasted again at the Red Mountain Block Party on 9/27/14. The 2011 lineup of Frichette wines seem to show improvement every time I taste them. Looking forward to the 2012 vintage.

Purple opaque in color. Nose of berries and spice. Juicy palate of blackberries, some spice and licorice. Smooth mouthfeel with some late heat and tannin. Great wine overall. It is still young and should continue to smooth out over the next few years. Thanks to the McGee's who brought by this beauty.

The 50 percent Merlot is sourced from Hightower Vineyard on Red Mountain, with the Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot coming from the Columbia Valley. This is a pretty, inky wine. The nose, attack, and mid palate show Red Mountain elements, the back and finish are more typical of the Columbia Valley. A solid wine for the tough 2011 vintage.

A blend of 50% Merlot, 25% Petit Verdot, and 25% Cab. Extremely smooth and lush. Lighter tannins - should go well with our smoked beef rib roast.
