  • Still drinking well. Cork was leaking (take that Stelvin fiends...)
    No formal note.
Drink or hold, very stable, though unlikely to improve.

  • Was given to a local wine shop, where this was their first aged australian semillon.

They tasted it and all swore that it was over the hill, corked and every other adjective to describe a flawed wine. The wine stayed open for 3-4 days, and upon returning to the shop, I listened incredulously. I asked to taste the dead bottle in question.

Lo and behold, it was just as good as the last one we opened in Australia. Having been opened for 4 days, it hadn't evolved appreciably. It was fresh and pale, not a trace of oxidation to be tasted. Must be the generous sulphite dosage from back then.

Tasty and stable. Drink or hold.

  • Mrs Lyons wasnt crazy about this one.
    N:Lemon curd, furniture polish!
Yellow with green tinge, typical for wines that are 20 years younger.
P:slight fizz, full textured palate, long finish. Not for everyone.
Paired well with a ginger-garlic chicken stir fry.
Very interesting and still plenty of life left.
    Drink or hold until 2025.
