  • Loved this wine. It was bold and complex with a nice dose of beautifully integrated American oak. Still youthful despite its 19 year age. What a remarkable value (paid $110 at a steakhouse) and available for $50 online retail. Had enough Tanin to last and grow for another 5 years. Tons of blue and black fruit on the palette, a hint or earthiness. Get nice and structured, not flabby. Paired amazingly well with 12 Day dry aged ribeye.

  • Still quite youthful, with copious tannins that are a bit overpowering at first sip, but soften up considerably with some some appropriate food. Plummy, leathery, with plenty of juicy acidity, well integrated oak. Overall impression is a voluptuous wine with considerable personality. Drink now and over the next 5 years.

  • Slow ox'ed for 2 hours. Intense nose as usual, clean black fruits, spices, black ink... Rounded, ready, soft palate and totally integrated tannins, although I felt less acidity than previous bottles. Nevertheless, a very good wine and happy to have hold a bottle until now. I would say at this peak and it doesn't seem it may improve with more time in bottle. Drink or hold 3-5 more years max.

Color cereza granatoso bien cubierto y brillante, ribete granatoso, capa alta y abundante lágrima bien tintada.

  • Definitely not an AFWE wine. Very Toro. A big, dark, rich wine. Intense dark fruits with coffee, toffee, vanilla notes consistent with a wine that has seen some serious wood. This is certainly a wine that you have to be in a particular mood for, but, if you are, it really hits the spot. Crazy QPR for $25 sale price.
