I don't think it necessarily warranted a vayner-rant, but it's definitely not a 91 pointer as per the spectator. Definitely too much oak. it's like being hit in the face with a log, and there's way too much butter on the mid palate and finish. The acidity is nice, and there's some explosive tropical fruit, but the oak is a big turn off.

I missed it last night, so this is a day two tasting with what was left in the bottle. A little bit funky out of the bottle, but it softened as it warmed up. Clear pineapple, some fig. A full-bodied wine, but not overpowering. Glad I didn't dump it last night!

(KIM CRAWFORD TIETJEN BRANT CHARDONNAY) #3; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-beautiful medium golden; NOSE-little Oak Monster; crazy buttered popcorn, very vibrant & fruity; baked bread & wood action; I'm torn, but a little over-the-top for me; TASTE-artificial bullcrap over-oaked Chardonnay; I'm tired of this -- Ton of Oak & Butter with: no structure, no acidic balance, no mid-palate & a crappy finish; WS-91; GV-74

Over-oaked. Past its prime.

A little harsh, strong flavor. Rough around the edges.

A combination of pear and peach with earthiness.
