A blend of wines from McLaren Vale and Barossa Valley, 13.5% ABV. Gold medal IWC 2015. Needs a few hours in the decanter to show its best. Rich purple colour; expressive and pure nose of blackberry jam, black pepper and warm spices, balanced by a mineral freshness; the palate has a rich and plummy attack, initially it is a bit dry and lacking weight and concentration mid-palate, but it fills out nicely with some oxygen, the fruit flavours are clean and there is adequate structure and freshness; light finish with blackberries and sweet peach and a hint of liquorice root.
