As I recall, this was never an especially dense wine (which was fine with me), but at age 10, it's fading. The initially pallid color darkens in the glass with air, and there are some pleasant loamy, forest-floor notes and the occasional hit of bright red fruit, but this is mostly uninteresting if inoffensive.

Beautiful, clean, bright. Much brighter and lighter than an Olga Raffault drunk alongside, though not nearly as deep and complex. Still a lovely, delicately handled cab franc.

P&p. Aromas of underripe cranberryish and citrusy fruit, mossy earth, light VA which works well, light radishy/peppery spice; nice pungency/wildness. With a little air floral scents join in. Similar on the palate, very light bodied, tart, fresh, highly drinkable. Knowing that it's Cab Franc some varietal character is clear enough, but nonetheless if blind I might be as likely to guess Pinot Noir or Gamay; might work as a ringer in a Spatburgunder or Passetoutgrains tasting! In any case, characterful and enjoyable stuff.

If that's true, then I'm looking pretty good these days. I'd give myself an 8 out of 10. I've got really nice transparency, I'm lots of fun yet still complex, and I practically scream varietal correctness.
But don't call that a tasting score.

Six nations tasting (49 King Street Wharf): pencil shavings, red currant spice…juicy but a little bit sour on the palate with floury tannins. Hmm
