Community Tasting Notes (7) Median Score: 95 points

  • Slightly bottle breathed and served in Lehmann red wine glass (“Fruit” day): Pale purplish ruby with very fine deposits.

Ultra floral and vegetal notes in a good way. Stems and smokes too. Very deep purplish whole bunch berry fruits.

Still supple tannins but very silky. Enjoyable now would still benefit over some cellar time. Very fine and full of finesse this one and probably less austere from previous notes.

    94-95 points.

1 hour upon opening: More gingery and fine spices emerged on nose.

  • Domaine Bizot Collection Wine Dinner: 1415 bottles, 35 magnums, 4 jeroboams made.

Bottle uncorked in advance and poured into small white wine glasses acting as decanters for the guests. Assessed via Zalto Burgundy glass (“Root” day): Medium bright ruby.

Even better lift and bigger scale on the nose than the Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru. Aromatically superior with ripe red and blue pinot fruits, hints of smoke, and good assortment of florals.

Relatively tight on the palate but has even better balance and integration than the Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru. It yields good acidity and fruit flavours but it is holding back its generosity / complexity at this stage but you can sense the clear potential for the long term.

    94-95 points.

  • A bit modern, slightly perfumed but without being over the top like Dujac, or some other producers wishing to make a modern burgundy.
Closed to start with (92-93 pts), but after 1 hour or so in the glass this really started to show its elegance and the craftsmanship behind this wine. Great.
My second Bizot and certainly a producer to look out for.

  • During a La Paulee dinner, so no detailed tasting notes. Obviously far too young. Wild aromas here, lots of forest, herbs, red and dark fruit. Punchy acidity, good volume. Stash away till 2024.

  • Herbs, mineral, red fruit and spice on the nose and palate. Good transperency and acidity. Less concentration versus the 13. Finish is slightly short but overall quite enjoyable. I would like to revisit this in 5 years.
