Very deep and intense dark plum color that looks practically opaque. The nose is ripe and juicy with intense aromas of ripe dark berries, red cherries, some exotic spice and hints of fermented strawberries. The wine is medium-bodied, firm and spicy on the palate with surprisingly savory and somewhat concentrated flavors of red cherries, sour cherry bitterness, some crunchy cranberries and a little bit of spicy bitterness. The wine is firm and structured with high acidity and moderately grippy tannins. The finish dry and quite long with moderate tannic grip and bitterness along with savory flavors of herbal bitterness, red currants, some woody tones, a little bit of coniferous forest character and a touch of ripe dark fruits.
A balanced, savory and surprisingly serious new world Merlot that is overall pretty much made into the style I enjoy, but overall the wine comes across as a bit one-dimensional and predictable. A decent effort - especially for the variety - but perhaps not that memorable or interesting to be a re-buy. Feels a bit pricey at 16,37€.

It is ok, but there is a hint of eukalyptus or dage that I am not fond of. For the price of 9 dollars I guess it is ok. (discount)
