Dark ruby violet with amber rim offering blackberry, black cherry, baking spices, and vanilla on the nose. Dark berries and spice are evident on the palate with fine grained tannins and a bit of Brett on the finish. Blend of 85% Grenache, 10% Syrah, and 5% Mourvèdre aged 8 months in French oak then 4 months in concrete eggs. Reasonable value for CdP. 14.7% ABV.

Dark ruby core fading to light purple rim. Strong nose of blackberry, black cherry, and plum. Some herbal notes like black pepper and eucalyptus. Strong smells of leather and earth. Hint of smoke. On the palate, more red fruit and florals. Hints of tobacco and spices. Dry and stoney finish. Medium high tannins. Medium high acidity. Medium high body. Not very exciting by itself but good with heavier fare. Good QPR for a CdP. Could use a few more years.

Enjoyable but undeniably new world cdp.... more fruit forward than nuanced and not very remarkable, although a pleasant food companion.
