  • I had low expectation for this wine at this age, but it was pleasant. Rich, obviously ripe fruit, even somewhat off-dry but still had subdued tannin and acid which saves it. Not typical for a Pinot Noir. Dark color and unctuous.

  • Not your typical Pinot Noir as the wine was full bodied, with bold red fruits, refined tannins & a medium to long finish. Although my wife & I were aware we were drinking a Pinot Noir, as we tasted the wine, it reminded us more of a young Cab and/or a soft Syrah. Nevertheless, this Pinot Noir was very tasty and drinkable, and it was thoroughly enjoyed.

  • It seems like this producer and Vision Cellars made a 2014 of this wine. And, to be perfectly honest with you, I am really not sure that I would have said this one was a Pinot Noir at all if it was served to me blind. This one had a lot of the somewhat brambly red fruit character that you might see in a well-made Grenache. Or even maybe a Syrah with a little bit of a slightly subordinary personality. But, not a PN. Juicy black cherry and blackberry, a little bit of phenolics with caramel and roasted chocolate. Very interesting middle of the road kind of wine which I honestly would have expected to have already been past its prime. Finishes with a really nice acidity, balanced structure. I would have thought this one probably would have been more acidic a few years ago, but I really don't think that's the style of the Wagner Family profile which is usually very full bodied even for a mid-range Pinot Noir. Most people I think drink this wine within one to two years, and I think you would be losing a lot by doing that. But who would know unless you put a couple of bottles back in the cellar for a 'rainy day'? This wine certainly is not getting any better so your mind as well.op the cork and enjoy it if you have it in your collection!!

  • Full bodied like a cab

  • Frankly, this was as jammy as many young Napa cabs, and didn’t change over an hour after opening.
