  • Lovely orange amber color. Complex aromatic scent with tangerines, Earl Grey tea, and honey. Not cloyingly sweet. Only limitation was a seeming lack of acidity. Overall a lovely wine that will be excellent for years if not decades.

  • Tasted at winery. After tasting the pinot gris fruit from the same vineyard in true SGN form, I see what all the fuss is about. Light golden color. Nose of beeswax, honey, dried apricots, candied orange peel and white flowers. Pure floral honey and candied apricot flavors on the palate with medium+ acid and a palate coating mouthfeel and ridiculously long, sweet finish. 189 g/l RS is quite sweet but the acid keeps the wine in check. I will probably drink this wine in the next 2-3 years since the acid does not seem very high for a wine of this sweetness.
