Honey, honeysuckle, with cooked and dried stone fruits and a touch of caramel. Lovely intensity. Obviously sweet given it’s an Auslese but plenty of acid to balance it out. Full body and a long finish.

Tasted at Laithwaites "Riesling - King of Grapes" tasting, Virginia Water, UK, presented by Alastair Dudley. Green/gold colour. This is similar in style to a Sauternes. It's incredibly sweet, too much sugar for me. But I agree it's a classy wine.
