Consistent as always. Chehalem makes Pinots with real terroir and personality, which are pretty full-bodied but with nice acidity and spice. They aren't delicate, but they are classy. Great raspberry, spices, and tea, with a long finish.

Pretty pronounced rotten egg/reduction smell that diminished over time but never really went away. Also smelled of coffee and cherries. The taste was much more straight-forward: cherry, earth and a little mushroom. Nice acidity and refreshing with food.

Medium ruby. Needed a good 30mn to open up. Medium aromatics with a lot of red fruits and hint of meat. Somewhat complex nose. Low+ to medium acidity, again good red fruits (pomme granate, cherry) and earthy flavors. Light to medium body it finishes with a good length.

This is the favorite wine of one of my best friends. We brought this along to dinner at our neighbor’s house Saturday night as my friend and her husband were joining us for dinner as well. Twist cap, so pop and pour. Very nice, light, pleasing wine. A nice balance to the spicy duck appetizers (grilled duck wrapped in bacon, cheese and jalapeños – yum!). Not a night of note taking … but recall raspberries and earth. Delicate and feminine, perhaps. Will seek this wine out again.
