Consistent with the last bottle only a few days ago but even better. Perfectly mature nose displaying elegant but generous yellow fruit, peach, a hint of pineapple, light caramel, vanilla, oyster jus, butterscotch, sweet spices and mineral. Beautifully integrated palate, very finally layered mature yellow fruit, very fluid and fresh, medium acidity, strong limestone mineral, and a long generous yellow fruit driven finish. This is drinking beautifully.

Another great wine dinner with Bernard Burtschy (Taberna del Alabardero, Washington D.C.): Ideally cellared bottle. Bright light gold. Beautifully mature nose, sweet mature neutral yellow fruit, honey, vanilla, oyster jus, oyster shell, butterscotch, sweet spices and limestone. Fully integrated palate, generous neutral yellow fruit, still showing good freshness, round and sweet, medium acidity, strong mineral, and a long sweet yellow fruit driven mineral finish with a hint of smoke at the end. The best example from a case I purchased at auction.

blind I guessed PC or GC from the 80ies. Colourwise golden, at the beginning a bit mushroom but after ten minutes this scent faded away. At his Peak, later some hazelnuts in the finish,. Still good acidity. Very elegant and reluctant. Bottle was empty in a short period. 93-94

2017 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium - Kelly and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/9/2017-11/14/2017 (Villa D’este, Lake Como and Milan): Pop and pour, a bit cloying nose and advanced nose initially. It settles down, ripe yellow fruit, crème brulee, butterscotch, sweet spices, oyster jus and oyster shell. Fully integrated palate, ripe yellow fruit, oyster shell, medium acidity and mineral, and a medium finish with crème brulee and oyster shell at the end. Not showing as well as the ones back home.
