Exceeded expectations. Fruit is muted, but still present and some glyceriney elements are allowed to show through. Good acid balance. Nice wine. Seems stable to me. Won't improve, but I don't think it is deteriorating much as the years go by.

Coravin’d a double to try as I prep for Thanksgiving. Given the age & some WS not lasting this long, I hoped for a moderate quaffer—-but this was amazing! Bright faded red fruit, crisp acids & earthy leather, touch of musk. I will enjoy the rest with my turkey tomorrow. I would guess it is just past its prime, so enjoy if you have some left.

Served with some mild to strong cow's milk cheese as part of dessert. Fully mature and drinking very well. Lovely nose of dried berries and leather. Solid body on the palate with still some good dark berry flavors. Won't get any better. Wine of the night for my French friends.

Dark red color, dark berry nose, medium weight, black cherry fruit, medium length finish. Wine has aged well and is very tasty. We have several various vineyard 2001 W-S pinots and have found that most of them have held up very well and expect them to last a few more years.
