@ John and Annabelle's, tasting of 05 Melville clones 9, 777, and 828. Out in front of the others with the best fruit and balance for current drinking and continued aging. Some secondary nuances, too.

Ed Kurtzman Dinner - His Favs and His (Casa Murray): Lean hot nose showing plenty of typical stem inclusion along with lots of cranberry and the slightly piney character I get from SRH. Palate is a bit tight and short though it grows in the glass becoming chunky. Lots of spice. Interesting mix. Would let this sleep a couple more years.

Ed Kurtzman Comes To Dinner (The Murray Casa): Man, still way too stemmy and as this was my last one, never will see if that quality eventually integrates. Firm palate, with blueberry but lacks some verve/edge. One noted. However, given this is a clonal bottling, I expected that.

Wow, I love 777 !! What a surprise that a single clone would still be so wonderful a decade later. Great red fruit flavors.

Ed Kurtzman Comes to OC (Casa Murray - San Juan Capistrano, CA): This wine was quite different from the first time I tasted it. Herbal aromas of shiso leaf, black cherries, sarsaparilla root, and raw jalapenos. Juicy and structured on the palate.
